HULI sa pinagsamang operasyon ng Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF), X-ray Inspection Project (XIP), Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), at Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), ang consignee ng 8,126 gramo ng umano’y shabu na tinatayang P56,069,400 ang halaga sa Cavite ka­makailan.

Sa isang derogatory information mula sa PDEA, ang nasabing shipment ay naging pakay para sa rigorous X-ray screening at K9 sniffing dahil sa indikasyon ng posibleng presensya ng illegal drugs.

Ang physical examination ay nagresulta sa pagkakatuklas sa walong brown heat-sealed plastics na naglalaman ng illegal substance na idineklara bilang “dry food”, na dumating noong Disyembre 17, 2023, mula sa California, USA.

Sa PDEA chemical laboratory analysis, nakumpirma na ang substance ay me­thamphetamine hydrochloride, o kilala bilang shabu, na isang dangerous drug sa ilalim ng RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act).

Naaresto ng mga elemento mula sa BOC at PDEA, ang isang lalaking claimant sa isinagawang Controlled Delivery Operation sa Cavite noong Disyembre 19, 2023.

Dahil dito, si District Collector Erastus Sandino Austria ay nag-isyu ng isang Warrant of Seizure and Detention laban sa subject shipment dahil sa paglabag sa RA 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) na may kaugnayan sa RA 9165.

Ang nasabing pagkakasabat ang pinakamalaking huli ng illegal drugs na naitala ng Port of Clark noong 2023.

“This arrest only shows that we are steadfast and firm in our efforts to protect the health of our people against the harmful effects of the illicit trade of drugs in the country,” ani Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
